Bag Obsession

“It’s a bag obsession
It’s always messin’
It’s always messin’ my mind”

– Guns n’ Roses

Ok, Guns n’ Roses didn’t really write a song about having an obsession with bags but I definitely have an obsession. I like bags… or to be more precise, satchels and messenger bags. I am not fussed about rucksacks… I mean, I own rucksacks. I have about three or four rucksacks but I don’t have a thing for them. I mean who would have a thing for rucksacks??! What do you take me for? A LOON?!?! *hahahaha* anyway…

Here are the five bags I use at the moment…

I know! Awesome aren’t they?! As you can see they are all different colours, sizes and shapes. I use them at different times for different things. For example I have two main bags at the moment. These are them…

The larger bag on the left I use mainly as an over-night travelling bag and the smaller bag on the right I use as a day to day bag.

Let’s take a closer look at the bag on the left shall we?

This bag is great. It has many pockets and can carry quite a lot. I would take this bag with me if I was going to spend a weekend away somewhere and I needed to take a change of underwear and socks, or a shirt or jumper, etc.

Let’s look inside and see what treasures it holds…

It contains:

  • My Passport
  • Oyster Card (London travel card)
  • My glasses prescription
  • Baclofen (medication for my Spastic Diplegia)
  • My transition lens ‘sun’ glasses (in glasses case)
  • Pebble portable phone charger
  • Dual iPhone/iPad charger
  • 3 metre apple charging/connection cable
  • 1.5 metre apple charging/connection cable
  • Headphones
  • X-mini II portable speaker.
  • Deodorant
  • Hair wax hairstyling product
  • Notebook
  • Pen
  • Reusable fold-away shopping bags x 2

I used to use that bag daily. I would take it around wherever I went, but it was rather big for a daily bag as I didn’t always need to carry so much. So I bought myself a much smaller bag. It was the one you saw on the right in one of the previous photos. This is it…

Isn’t it great? So this is my new ‘daily use’ bag. It is the bag that I will take to work with me, or if I was to pop into town, or to the shops. It would be the bag I would take with me on a day out.

Let’s take a look at the wonders inside…

It contains:

  • Baclofen (medication for my Spastic Diplegia)
  • Powergen portable phone charger & torch
  • USB cable (for charging the portable phone charger)
  • iPhone charger
  • 1.5 metre apple charging/connection cable
  • Headphones
  • 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable audio cable
  • Deodorant
  • Anti-Perspirant
  • Hair wax hairstyling product
  • Pen
  • Playing cards (travel size)
  • Reusable fold-away shopping bags x 2
  • Fold-away rucksack (Just incase I do need another ‘bigger’ bag)
  • Fold-away waterproof jacket (sometimes kept in my over-night travelling bag)

So as you can see I am perfectly normal. I just like to be prepared. For example I am looking to buy another fold-away waterproof jacket so I can always have one in each bag… What’s that you say? Why do I need two of everything? Well I can’t keep moving things from one bag to another can I? *laughs* What do you mean I’m mental?!?

*Browses internet for yet another bag*

  1. You’re a genius! I’m so fed up with moving things from my small bag to my big bag and back again depending on where I’m going, and then to my bike bag if I’m taking Beryl. I’m off to the shops later to buy duplicates of everything I own. Great blog post! Loved it!
